Denis Langlois completes a Fine Arts degree in Cinema Production at Concordia University (Montreal). In 1988, he writes, produces and directs his first short film, Éclipse. He’s involved in the Montreal independent film scene, first with Main Film, an association of independent filmmakers and service center, then with distributor Cinéma Libre, where he was head of the steering committee. He also chaired on the Centre national du cinéma et de la télévision (Sodec-Québec) where he represented the independent sector. He helped organize the Image & Nation Festival, now in its 18th year.
In 1992, he directs Ma vie which is selected for competition at the Toronto International Film Festival, before playing in more than 12 countries. In 1994, with Bertrand Lachance, he starts a production company, Les Productions Castor & Pollux, to produce their first feature, L’Escorte, which is later released in Canada, in the United-States, in Germany and in France, and participates in more than 30 international festivals. They complete a second feature, Danny in the Sky, in 2001 that has since been distributed on DVD and on television in Canada, the US, Germany, France, Italy and the UK. Amnesia–The James Brighton Enigma is their third feature film.
Denis Langlois is currently working with a group of filmmakers starting a new distributor of independent films called "Les Films du 3 mars". He’s also working with Bertrand Lachance on the development of a sexy dramatic comedy entitled Deux fois plus d’amour, as well as on a re-working of a script by Bertrand Lachance, about the story of the first executionner in Nouvelle-France, L’Incroyable destin de Mathieu-le-Tambour.
